Maggie was one of the artists participating in the Limited Palette Challenge on Facebook in spring 2012. The challenge was to use artist Ken Auster's palette of cadmium yellow medium, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, black and white. At the close of the challenge, Ken Auster selected Maggie's painting, Val di Chiana, as the winner. His comments were: "After a weekend of continual review of images—and keeping in mind that it is a limited palette challenge—the painting that I believe did the most with the least is Maggie Price #1—the best use of warmer and cooler and color harmony and light." For more information about using a limited palette in oils, see the blog post on the Painting Partners blog.

Maggie Price is the editor of My Friends, Today's Great Masters: Volume Two of the Jack Richeson Fine Art Series. Publisher Jack Richeson has long been concerned about the lack of recognition for today's great masters, and in this collection of works he acknowledges current artists who can be called masters.
Selected from among the numerous artists Jack has come to know through many years working in the art materials industry, these artists represent some of the greats in the present-day world of art. While the work of some of these artists may be familiar, a number of lesser-known great masters are also honored in these pages. The book retails for $49.95 plus $4.95 shipping and handling. Maggie Price is the editor of Confessions of a Brush Peddler, an autobiography by Jack Richeson. From his humble beginnings on the streets of Chicago to positions of power and influence, Jack Richeson chronicles his own growing-up years along with the growth of an industry. It's a history of a way of life that's vanished--of changes that eliminated entire professions, illustrators, graphic artists, layout specialists and typographers. And it's a fascinating account of the gritty streets of Chicago and a tough little Irish kid who fought his way out of the slums and up the corporate ladder. Anyone who was even peripherally involved in commercial, graphic or fine arts in the last fifty years will find this an interesting record; anyone who just likes a good story about the battles and triumphs of life will enjoy it as well. The book retails for $29.95 plus $4.95 shipping and handling. For more information, see www.richesonart.com; phone orders 800-233-2404, fax 800-233-2545.
